Having been called the horse trainers trainer. Training horses and training someone how to ride a horse is not an easy task. Many years of experience with horses within varying disciplines is required to be able to give an informative riding lesson.

Driving down the Bruce Highway, windshield wipers barely revealing the signs for the Bribie Island turnoff, I kept thinking about the interview I was about to do with considerable trepidation. “Just what do you say to someone like Vivian Wearing?” I thought to myself. “What do you say to 'the trainer's trainer'?”

A Passion for Teaching
Why do Australia's leading horsemen describe Vivian Wearing as the trainer's trainer and the best all-round horse woman in Australia. Why is she is such demand as a teacher and clinician?
Is it because she can sum up people and horses with equal ease or because she is passionate about teaching and lives, eats, breathes, sleeps and dreams it? Is it her ability to connect with her students and instantly assess their level of competence and the areas they most need help or because she listens to the horse, whose way of going tells her what needs to be worked on? Or is it because she has an open mind and the ability to pick up riding and training techniques from anywhere and analyse and adapt them very quickly?

“In the long run you are better off taking your time with a horse, rather than pressuring it and perhaps getting into that early two year old class and then losing that horse for the rest of its life because you have blown its brains by overpressure.”
The video tape showed slow motion action as Vivian Wearing rode the cutting mare 'Kings Gayiety' for the Queensland 7.30 News Report. While the commentator described her as the leading woman trainer Western riding in Australia, Viv Wearing joked with us about the comments and suggested we watch her expressive facial contortions as she described a happy and unhappy horse to the news commentator. Although quiet and a little shy Viv's sense of humour is never far below the surface.

Vivian Wearing, acclaimed as Australia's best all-round horsewoman and an "amazing" coach, declared herself blown away by the equestrian complex at the Fraser Coast showgrounds.
Vivian , who finished a five-day coaching stint on Monday, said the complex was the best regional venue in Australia.
"I've never been to a showgrounds where the staff has been so helpful and I have never seen one so well maintained," she said.

...........A funny think about Vivian Wearing Clinics (She is a Western Judge and teacher) if you took the saddles of most of the horses at the clinics and put dressage saddles on the horses, and changed the gear some of the people wear to jodhpurs you would think it was a dressage class.............
